Overview
Moodboard Notes ("the app", "we", "our") is a creative idea-capture tool for Android. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and your rights as a user. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
Information We Collect
Content you create (stored locally only)
- Text notes, web links, and colour swatches you add to boards
- Photos taken with your camera or imported from your gallery
- Voice recordings you make within the app
- Screen captures you take using the capture feature
All of the above is stored exclusively in the app's private storage on your device using a local database (Room/SQLite). It is never uploaded to any server.
Advertising data (Google AdMob)
The app displays banner advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve personalised or contextual ads, in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. We do not share any content you create with AdMob.
Permissions Used
- Camera — to take photos you add to your moodboards. Photos stay on your device.
- Microphone / Record Audio — to record voice notes you add to boards. Recordings stay on your device.
- Read Media Images — to import images from your gallery into boards.
- Foreground Service / Media Projection — to capture a screenshot of another app when you use the Screen Capture feature. The capture is saved locally and never transmitted.
- Post Notifications — to show a notification during and after screen capture so you can return to the app.
- Internet — required only by the AdMob advertising SDK to fetch ads.
How We Use Information
- To provide the core functionality of the app (create, view, and manage moodboards)
- To display advertising (handled by Google AdMob)
We do not use your content for analytics, profiling, marketing, or any other purpose beyond operating the app on your device.
Data Storage & Security
All user-created content is stored in the app's private internal storage, which is not accessible to other apps on your device without root access. No data is transmitted to external servers by us.
Uninstalling the app will permanently delete all your boards, notes, images, and recordings stored by the app.
Third-Party Services
The app integrates the following third-party SDK:
- Google AdMob (Google LLC) — advertising. See Google Privacy Policy and AdMob data practices.
No other third-party analytics, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs are included in the app.
Children's Privacy
Moodboard Notes is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
Your Rights
Because we do not collect or store your personal data on our servers, there is nothing for us to access, export, or delete on your behalf. You retain full control:
- Delete your data — delete individual boards or items within the app, or uninstall the app to remove everything.
- Opt out of personalised ads — use your device's ad privacy settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads) to reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalisation.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated effective date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
